About the Reader's Candle
We're celebrating all of you with a new “Reader's Candle” that melds an exclusive book list and a heartwarming scent. Featuring a book list curated by our founder, Vanessa, each title resonates with a special moment in time and bears witness to her journey through life. The scent is a fusion of Vanessa’s childhood memories and impression of the ocean, a fond memory she holds close to her heart.
Our reader's candle epitomises Scentory’s vision — to create worldly experiences for all by stimulating the five senses — and a conclusion to the first part of our brand journey. We’re so happy to have local artist Benson Koo’s artwork commemorate this pivotal moment on our journey, capturing our creativity with his childlike brushstrokes and an intimate response to our booklist.
The books I’ve picked echo the many light and dark moments in life. Each title is linked to a specific memory, emotion or moment in time, and I remember each of them fondly, as one recalls the moment they fell in love. May their presence grace your journey through sunsets and seasons.

關於這個閱讀蠟燭
步入2024年之終，我們推出久違的「閱讀蠟燭 」，希望透過選書和香氣的結合，陪伴你開展新的章節。這次的蠟燭將糅合香言店主蔡宛蓉（Vanessa Choi）的讀物書單，每本書都承載著歲月痕跡。香氣的靈感源自Vanessa的童年回憶並夾雜著海洋的芬芳，喚起對昔日情懷的追憶。
這次的閱讀蠟燭標概括了香言由2019創立起到現在的創作意念：以字生香，以香伴讀。希望以文字作為創作靈感，為讀者創造不同的五感體驗，共同開拓彼此的視野。所以我們很高興能夠與本地藝術家古本森 (Benson Koo) 合作，透過他細膩的筆觸，為蠟燭創造出與書單相輔相成的畫作。
這次揀選的書目陪伴了我度過生活中無數明暗時刻。每本書連繫上著我生命中某個頓刻、特定的記憶、情感或時刻， 而它們彷彿成了我的密友，每本都蘊含我們的故事。希望這次的選書也能引領你在旅程中踱步漫遊，感受非凡的日落和季節更迭，和藹如同日煦散射。

About Benson Koo 古本森
Born in the 80s in Hong Kong, Benson Koo takes darkness as one of his favorite topics as well as an artistic creation type, so his works tend to permeate distinctive absurdity and fearlessness: images such as death, blood, violence, and darkness are condensed in his artistic creation and endowed with life. His works are like a mirror, reminding us to faithfully look at and face our inner darkness.
古本森（Benson Koo）生於八十年代香港。他著迷於黑暗，並以入題創作。他的作品充溢獨特的荒誕和無畏——死亡、血液、暴力和暗黑等形象，在他的藝術創作中凝聚並被賦予生命——他的作品如鏡，誠然映照出亦提醒我們必須忠實看待並面對自身內在的黑暗。
