"Ode to Taste" scent curation for the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA)

Scentory is invited by HKMoA to craft five scents exclusively for “Art Personalised: Masterpieces from the Hong Kong Museum of Art” exhibition, where nearly 100 artworks are selected from the core collections of the HKMoA. They are categorised into four personality types to present a multi-faceted world of art, and invite the viewers on a personal journey through the museum.



The scent curation follows the concept of a tasting menu starting with hors d'oeuvre, appetiser, soup, main course and dessert, where the lightest scents are followed by deeper, more sophisticated profiles, ending on a sweet, refreshing note. The viewers are also invited to do a personality quiz to match with a scent.


The experience includes “scratch n sniff” for viewers to collect along their museum visit and an Eau de Parfum set for their collection. A walk-performance was presented by Scentory's artistic director, Vanessa Choi, in 2024 that took the audience on a scent-inspired journey, "Remember that we all are", through the exhibition, fusing dance and sound.
